Headaches can be of 6 different types, know the cure for each of them


As modern-day lives are becoming increasingly stressful, with everyone trying to multitask and handling all sorts of stressors, this often leads to headache problems. Headache is one of the most common problems with almost 50 percent of the adult population experiencing it at least once a year. We have all dealt with headaches at some point or the other but not all of us know that headaches are of various types, and they should be treated according to their type. Let’s take a look at six different types of headaches and their cures.

Headaches can be disabling as their repeated occurrence makes one compromise on their daily tasks. It becomes nearly impossible for people suffering with a headache to focus on their work or be productive in any way. It also affects their personal lives as they are unable to spend time with family or go out with them. Hence, it is important that headaches are not taken lightly and are treated well on time.

Tangela Fuqua, a certified and registered nurse anesthetist, shared an Instagram reel where she talks about different types of headaches and ways to treat them.

Here are 6 different types of headaches and ways to treat them:

1. Forehead

If your headache is lingering on the forehead region, it is a sign of lack of sleep. In this type of headache, you experience stabbing pain in your forehead. To treat this type of headache, all you need to do is get some sleep. You should at least get 6-8 hours of sleep daily.

2. Top of the head

If you are experiencing pain on the top of the head and it gives you a feeling that someone is hammering your head, it is caused by lack of food or dehydration in your body. If you are experiencing this kind of a headache, the first thing you should be doing is getting yourself something to eat and drink.

3. Back of the head

Sometimes, the headache develops at the back of your head, that is the area above your neck. If you are experiencing pain in that area then it is a sign that you are taking too much stress. You need to relax and let go of the stress. Meditating, reducing the noise around you, laying down or practicing deep breathing exercises will help you relax.

4. Face

Pain in between your eyebrows, around your nose and eyes is a result of some allergy or sinus. This is known as sinus headache and to deal with it you can take medication, do some exercise or take a warm shower.

5. Tight headband

If you feel like there is a tight rubber-band around your forehead then you are experiencing a tension headache. To treat this type of headache, you need to reduce your screen time. You can keep taking breaks away from the screen or you can use blue ray blocker glasses. Taking a hot shower will also help.

6. Pain around one eye

If you are experiencing excruciating pain just around one of your eyes, then you are having a Cluster headache. seek medical attention. Your eyes could tear up and you might even notice some redness in your eye. For this type of headache you need to immediately stop looking at any kind of screen and consult your doctor.
