What is pregnancy nose is

Agreed, the list of changes in body during pregnancy is long. But the first question that pops in the mind of expecting moms is whether a particular change is normal or not. You even wonder if your baby’s movements are normal or not (normal baby movements during pregnancy). Cause of pregnancy nose

The expert says that from the beginning of the first trimester and second trimester, the blood vessels tend to expand to cope with the growing fetus. The estrogen levels in your body can cause increased blood flow into your mucous membrane right under your nose. The muscles and membranes in your nose expand owing to the increased blood supply. Hence, the size of your nose will also increase. During the third or last trimester, some women experience water retention in their face, and this leads to swelling of the nose.

Pregnancy nose is not very common

Not all pregnant women will have bigger noses. Only some women maybe affected. Dr Choudhary says that some women may also notice that the colour of their nose changes to red. This happens due to the changing hormone levels that impact the pigmentation in the skin.
